Q & A

  1. What is the main advantage of small assisted living facilities vs the larger ones?  Larger facilities may offer amenities that smaller ones can't but the latter offer more one-on-one care and certain residents really require that extra attention, assistance and supervision.
  2. Are the smaller facilities subject to the same regulations as the larger facilities?  Yes, they have to jump through all the same hoops.
  3. Is there a doctor or nurse on staff?  No, but we have an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner on call and access to a Licensed nurse.
  4. Is Physical Therapy available?  Yes, this and other services are available through our Home Health agency, with a script from our ARNP.
  5. Can blood work, urine collection and X-rays be done at the facility?  Yes, this is covered by Medicare and it can be done, with a script.
  6. Is laundry and housekeeping included?  Yes, it is included but not the cost of incontinence supplies or products like "Ensure" as a rule.
  7. Does a resident have to go elsewhere when they age and their health falters?  No, they age in place and hospice can come in and help.
  8. Does the rate go up when the resident's condition gets worse?  With few exceptions, the rate will tend to remain the same throughout.
  9. In case of a hurricane, do the residents remain at the facility?  Yes, they normally do as we have a generator and supplementary food.
  10. Are there other facilities where residents can be evacuated in case of an emergency?  Yes, we have three such other facilities available.
  11. Can you accept Medicaid residents?  Yes, we currently have Medicaid credentialing at one facility and will have this at the others soon.
  12. What does it cost to go into one of your facilities?  There is an initial Admission Fee and then the monthly rate but we must assess first.
